Sydney July 2023 - Willis Tribe Pty Ltd is excited to announce the upcoming launch of it's Australian innovation the Reset Razor. A product designed for shaving the body, not a face shaver turned upside down.
In a world saturated with gendered product offerings, where the mantra of "pink it and shrink it" has long prevailed, our new razor product is set to challenge the status quo. Breaking away from the confines of traditional gender-specific designs, we proudly announce the launch of our groundbreaking razor that prioritizes functionality and addresses the unique ergonomic needs of body shaving and facial shaving alike. Say goodbye to the limitations of one-size-fits-all and embrace a razor designed for the task, not the gender.
We are thrilled to unveil our revolutionary razor designed explicitly for body shaving, catering to the grooming needs of individuals across all genders While traditional stick razors still excel in facial shaving, we recognized the pressing need to develop a razor that caters to the distinct requirements of body grooming.
When the concept of body shaving emerged (primarily as women began shaving legs and underarms) existing razor manufacturers merely repurposed their products, making minor alterations and marketing them to women as body shaving solutions. However, what was not acknowledged was that there is a significant disparity in hand and wrist positioning required for body shaving . While there have been some helpful tweaks to assist body shavers we believed a total reset was required. Adding swivelling heads for example simply made up for the fact that greater manipulation of the razor blade was required - and unrealistic with the wrist in the position it now ended up .
The concept of "pink it and shrink it" in product design refers to a marketing strategy that involves taking a product originally designed for men and making slight modifications to appeal to women. The changes often involve making the product smaller, adding feminine colours such as pink or pastels, and incorporating stereotypical feminine design elements
Our razor boasts a handle that places the wrist and hand in an optimal position ensuring enhanced control during the shaving process. Different grip options acknowledge that different areas of the body result in different angles of the wrist. Whether it's the contours of the legs, the underarms, or any other part of the body, our razor caters to each area with precision and ease. This versatility ensures that users can effortlessly navigate the curves and contours of their body, achieving a smooth and flawless shave every time.
As we proudly announce the launch of our task-oriented razor, we hope to inspire a continued paradigm shift in the industry, encouraging other brands to reconsider the limitations imposed by gendered product design. We’d love you to feel the difference and further our drive to reset design when tweaks just wont cut it.
With twenty 20 customizable colour options never accidentally use someone else’s razor again!
